INFO:
Bean, our blood parrot cichlid has Hole in the Head, likely caused by Hexamita. We’ve moved him into a bare-bottom hospital tank while we set up a better permanent home for him. If we need to treat with Metroplex for parasites, we’ll cover the tank to make sure Soul doesn’t drink the medicated water. Hexamita isn’t contagious or zoonotic, so no worries there! Soul has never shown aggression toward another pet. He sleeps on top of the mouse cage, and he and Kovu go nose to nose without issue. He’s had every opportunity to go after the betta, but he’s never even tried. Honestly, Bean is more likely to attack Soul than the other way around. Even outside, when we see mice, he just watches—never pouncing. He’s assertive when it comes to toys and even with people, but it’s always playful. Flies and moths, though? Fair game. You can tell him to “watch ’em,” and he’ll track his target; say “action,” and he’ll strike. But if you say “cut,” he’ll stop most of the time
